Yes! It's a great value and it is Western Colorado University policy that all designated campus residents in a traditional residence hall must purchase a meal plan each semester. Contact Residence Life for more information at (970) 943-2101.
Flex Dollars are specific cash values included in all meal plans. They work like a pre-paid debit card with funds kept on your Mountaineer Card. Flex Dollars may be used at any on-campus dining locations.
Flex Dollars are designed to be used during the semester they are purchased, and are not carried over from semester to semester.
Block Meals carry over from semester to semester, however, they do not carry over from academic year to year.
Yes! Changing to a smaller meal plan can be done, but must be completed by Wednesday during the first week of the semester. Changing to a larger plan is possible at any time during the semester. Any other changes must be requested through the Director of Housing at (970) 943-2101.

Mountaineer Chase is a smart and easy way to make purchases at any dining location on campus. Mountaineer Cash is stored on your student ID card, so there is not need to worry about carrying around cash; just present your Mountaineer Card at the time of purchase and the cashier will take care of the rest.
